F.A.Q
What’s the process?
Let’s chat! We can do this over the phone or through email, or however you like! Tell me what you’re looking for and when. We’ll talk locations! Once we decide you’re ready to book a session, we plan! I will send you an email, which directs you to my booking site - Honeybook. Here, you can communicate with me, review your contract, pay your retainer to hold your date ($100), and pay the remaining cost prior to your session! Then, the fun part. Your big day! We will laugh and have fun and I promise it will not feel like those rigid family portraits in the Sears studio from your childhood. (Just kidding, mom! I treasure ours!) Once your session is over, I will send you an email link with instructions on how to download your images within two weeks. (But let’s be real, I get too excited and usually send them in a few days!) So, to recap -
Booking email / pay retainer.
Styling & location planning.
Session Time! Pay remaining balance & come have fun!
Proofing gallery to review via email.
Final gallery delivered via email! (No more than two weeks).
Can I share my pictures?
Yes! This is WHY capturing these moments for you! Seeing a photograph as someone’s profile picture or Christmas card feature is the biggest compliment! I do request that you give credit for the images so I can continue to grow my incredible client base! Client referrals are 80% of my new clients, and I just take that as the biggest complement. When sharing, please do not add extra filters, cropping, or edit the image yourself. I work really hard to ensure you receive beautiful and quality work when you receive the final product. All films include music that is copyright free and permitted to be shared on social media.
What do I wear?
Oh boy, I am so passionate about this question. Why? Because makes a WORLD of difference in your images. Styling can make you FEEL something when you look at images. It can make them TIMELESS. COHESIVE. And the most important thing, is for you to be YOU! And I know it can be hard to put together a whole family worth of outfits! But, I have great news for you!
I will send you an email with a whole list of recommendations and things to think about when you are choosing your outfits. AND, I partner with a Style and Select, which is an online styling resource - and it is AMAZING. Seriously - I styled my family of six, head to toe, with ease, in five minutes. THIS IS UNHEARD OF. No running between Target and Old Navy and Kohls. No hours online shopping trying to find something that will work. Such a headache, I know! So, I will stop raving about this resource and just promise you - you’re in good hands.
Do you offer mini sessions?
I do not offer mini sessions year round. I generally schedule these around holidays and special events. Be the first to know about these by following me on my Facebook or Instagram!
What equipment do you use?
Fellow camera nerd? I totally get it! This is what I want to know when booking a session too! I assure you that my photography gear is top of the line and reliable! I shoot all of my sessions in natural light, with the exception of nighttime homecomings, in which case you might see me pull my flash out. My current camera kit consists of the following equipment:
Primary Body: Canon 5D Mark IV
Secondary Body: Canon 5D Mark III
Primary Lens: Canon 35mm f/1.4
All images will be post-processed using professional editing software prior to delivery!
Can I order prints?
I do not offer printing services. Instead of actual prints, I deliver your images digitally. You can download these and save them forever, share on social media, and print as needed! But, I do send you an email after your session and refers you to some fantastic printing options! But, I allow you to choose where you print your pictures, though, the better the printer, the greater integrity of the image. (Walmart may be cheap, but it also may not look the best!)
Do I get a copy of my unedited/RAW images?
No, I do not deliver pre-processed images to clients.
What is your training and experience?
Self-taught! Had a baby, got a camera. Quickly realizd I had no idea what I was doing but really wanted to. Fast-forward eight years, and here I am. Once I realized that I desired to become a professional, I began investing in my craft. I have been shooting professionally since 2020. I have been a member of the Catalyst Church Photography and Videography Team since 2016. In 2016, I was featured in USA Today and in October 2018, my image was featured on the cover of Military Families magazine. In 2019, I sought a mentorship with my ALL-TIME favorite photographer, who helped me hone in my style and business model. And, that’s when I caught the education bug and sought out lighting courses, listening to podcasts, learning every little thing I could. And here I am now, always learning something, grateful for where I am and excited for where I’m going!
