Year One.

Wouldn’t you know that exactly once year ago this month, I was in my first month of business. I started preparing myself for this new season, this new adventure, years earlier. And it was finally here. I was excited, eager, but equally anxious for what was to come in that year. I was not at all ready for March, which would hit me with the big three - new baby, deployment a few days later, and the big shutdown of 2020. What a month, which left me saying, “What. A. Year.”

And, wow. I learned so much in all of it. I grew so much. I tried, and I failed. I tried, and I succeeded. And we’re officially embarking on year two and I am a little less anxious, and even more eager and excited for what is to come in 2021. But, before I dive too far into 2021, I want to celebrate some highlights of 2020!

My first destination photos - in the beautiful desert mountains of Phoenix, Arizona. Wow, that was amazing, and I really caught the travel bug. There are so many beautiful places in our great country, and I want to photograph your families in all of them. How about 128 sessions booked?! I got to work with 137 beautiful families! How amazing is that?! Growth. I’m amazed when I look at how much I’ve learned. It really felt like something every. single. session. That’s 137 times I got to get better for you all. I am so thankful for each of those opportunities. And in awe of how much I truly love capturing moments.

So what’s up next for Kourtney Martin Pictures and Films in 2021? Kicking it off with a (much-needed) website refresh. Thanks for stopping by to see it!
